Want to save time and money, but don't want to compromise on quality? Own an Autodata CD. With the Autodata 338 engine, you'll get complete coverage of all makes and models of cars, trucks and other vehicles. You can access it 24/7 online or offline (with the full version), which means that it doesn't matter where you are or what kind of computer you're using; you can also use it as often as required. It's safe to say that this is the last car information product you'll need for a while! *The following introduction is not really informative or factual. It's just my opinion on how Autodata compares to another car information package. Please ignore my opinions if they aren't helpful for you.* Ok, so I've used Computers for a while, but I'm a complete idiot when it comes to cars. So I decided that my next buy would be an online car information system, something reliable and easy to use. After spending ages on the internet reading reviews, comparing prices etc., I came across two leading products - AutoData CD/DVD and Techstream. I read through lots of reviews from people who have used both products and the results were mixed. So, I decided to use Automotard and compare it with Autodata. So after many days of comparing the two products and reading reviews, what I thought was: 1) Techstream is really easy to use and has more features than Autodata. 2) AutoData is great for more complex vehicles such as 4WD vehicles or turbo engines etc. 3) There's a huge difference in the price between the two products. AutoData is much more expensive than Techstream (which is really cheap compared to ATC). If you're just looking for basic car information on all makes and models of cars then maybe AutoData will be an option for you. 4) The up-sells on Autodata's website (like the new DVD, the extra USB and the new software) is some how related to their e-books and e-books don't contain any of the information on the DVDs. For example, if you go to another website like InformationSoft, you'll get an entire book of software (for only $20/year). So what good is it if you don't have a DVD? Nobody needs an e-book. 5) One thing I thought was annoying about AutoData is they have a company logo in the middle of their home page. I don't know why but I just find that a bit annoying. The only reason I'm comparing the two products is because I'm interested in buying one of them, but can't decide which one. I thought that if someone else was looking to buy a car information pack, then this review would be beneficial for them. Hope it helps!
